1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Luminae platform ("Service"), including our website, mobile application, and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including clients, professionals, and visitors. By creating an account or completing a booking, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

2. Description of Services

Luminae operates a marketplace platform that connects homeowners and renters ("Clients") with independent cleaning professionals ("Professionals"). Luminae does not itself perform cleaning services. All cleaning services are performed by independent Professionals who are not employees, agents, or contractors of Luminae.

Luminae provides:

• A platform to browse, select, and book Professionals
• Secure payment processing
• A review and rating system
• Customer support services
• Insurance coverage as described in our Standards documentation

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to book services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@luminaehome.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not share your account credentials with others. Luminae reserves the right to terminate or suspend accounts that have been shared, transferred, or used in violation of these Terms.

4. Bookings and Appointments

When you complete a booking, you enter into a service agreement with the selected Professional. Luminae facilitates this agreement but is not a party to it. Luminae's role is limited to platform provision and payment processing.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate address and access information
• Ensure a safe working environment for the Professional
• Be present or make arrangements for property access at the scheduled time
• Comply with our Cancellation Policy

5. Payments and Fees

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By completing a booking, you authorise Luminae to charge your payment method for the total booking amount, including any add-ons selected.

Pricing is displayed transparently before checkout. Luminae does not charge hidden platform fees on top of displayed prices. Tips are optional and go entirely to the Professional.

In the event of a dispute regarding a charge, contact us within 30 days at support@luminaehome.com.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform to harass, threaten, or discriminate against any Professional or other user
• Attempt to arrange off-platform bookings with Professionals to circumvent our fees
• Provide false reviews or artificially inflate or deflate ratings
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise access our systems without authorisation
• Impersonate another user or entity

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Luminae's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 90 days preceding the claim.

Luminae is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Luminae platform — including logos, text, graphics, and software — is the property of Luminae Home Services, Inc. and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

9. Termination

Luminae reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any conduct deemed harmful to other users or the platform. You may also close your account at any time by contacting us.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.

11. Changes to These Terms

Luminae may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on our platform. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
